A practical buyer's guide

LED display project planning checklist

A useful LED proposal starts with the installation—not a pixel pitch in isolation. Share the details below so the display, cabinet, control system and service plan can be evaluated against the real site.

01 · Project brief

Describe where and how the screen will be used.

If a detail is not decided yet, mark it as open. A site photo, sketch or drawing can help clarify constraints.

ApplicationAdvertising, façade, stage, sports venue, meeting room, control room, retail signage or another use.
Installation locationCity and country; indoor, semi-outdoor or outdoor; direct sun, rain exposure, dust, wind and ambient light conditions.
Screen dimensionsTarget width and height, orientation, number of screens and any limits from the wall, structure or available space.
Viewing conditionsNearest and typical viewing distance, audience direction and whether people will view the screen while moving.
ContentText, logos, presentations, live video, sports feeds, camera footage or mixed media; include the source resolution if known.
Operating scheduleDaily operating hours, seasonal use, event-only use and any continuous-operation requirement.
02 · Display configuration

Match image quality and hardware to the brief.

Pixel pitch and viewing distance

Share the typical viewing distance and content type before selecting a pitch. Fine text, close viewing and large-format advertising can lead to different priorities. Ask for a pixel layout and a viewing sample when comparing options.

Brightness and protection

Outdoor daylight, shaded façades and indoor rooms have different light conditions. Confirm the required brightness, front and rear protection, temperature range and installation exposure for the exact proposed cabinet.

Cabinet and service access

Confirm the mounting method, available rear clearance, access for maintenance, cabinet dimensions, total weight and how the structure will support the assembled screen.

Control and signal

Identify the content source, signal distance, operating location, network availability and whether the display needs asynchronous playback, live input or integration with an existing system. Confirm controller and receiving-card compatibility in the final proposal.

03 · Commercial and delivery details

Make proposals easier to compare.

Scope of supplyLED cabinets/modules, control system, power and signal cables, spare parts, structure, installation and commissioning—state what is included or excluded.
Project documentsAsk for cabinet layout, total pixel resolution, power estimate, connection diagram, maintenance access and installation requirements.
Shipping basisConfirm destination city or port, preferred trade term, delivery address and whether the buyer or supplier arranges import clearance and local delivery.
Schedule and warrantyConfirm production lead time after specification and artwork approval, shipment timing, warranty coverage and available after-sales support for the exact configuration.
EvaluationFor shortlisted proposals, compare the same screen size, pitch, brightness, refresh configuration, cabinet type, scope and delivery basis—not only the headline price.
